I haven’t seen this around tumblr just yet, so I wanted to put my own word out about it.
This is a fashion doll created by an illustrator that has been modeled to the standard proportions of the average 19 year old girl. She’s healthy, sporty, wears natural makeup, and GOSH DARNIT LOOK HOW POSABLE SHE’LL BE.
The project is technically fully funded now, but the more support and preorders it gets, the more influential it will be. My mom just got one for the sole purpose of keeping in the box, because best case scenario, these things become the next barbie and they’re worth big bucks later on; worst case scenario, she helped support an artist with a good cause.
Preorders aren’t outrageous at all. $25 for a first-edition doll that will NOT be sold in retail stores. Please spread the word and help get this doll known!
In honor of the ladies who have motivated, paved the way and given hope to so many of us, we rounded up powerful quotes from some of the world’s most inspirational women.
I fell into a role on a sci-fi show, Supernatural, several years ago and quickly learned that the fan base for the show was incredibly active, enthusiastic, and devoted. They write fiction, create tons of artwork, build virtual communities online, and spend a lot of time and money traveling to fan conventions. When the earthquake struck Haiti a few years ago, I set up a donation page for UNICEF and posted the URL on my twitter feed. In twenty-four hours, more than $30,000 had been raised. I put two and two together and realized that I might be in a position to mobilize some of this creative energy to benevolent ends, and then set up a nonprofit with the help of the fans. The organization has grown beyond the Supernatural fanbase over the past couple of years. Now we have partnerships with other nonprofit and for-profit organizations (including a Nascar team, which is pretty badass), and we have pulled off some projects that I’m very proud of.
I don’t think the question is: “why do you love Misha?”
The question is: “why don’t you?”
Every time I see the last GIF I burst out laughing; I can’t even help it. JUST LOOK AT HOW SERIOUS HE IS.
MUST. WATCH. VIDEO.
“Woman’s Day #throughglass" is a project whose only purpose is to make people think, on this special day, about the condition of women in our society.
"Google is not involved. We’ve just used the language of Glass to deliver a social message.”

Someone should really pair this gifset up with the one from 8x07 because I’m definitely seeing parallels. I don’t think I saw Dean have a moment of happiness in this entire episode, but the closest he comes to it is when he sees a familiar trench coat-attired form. Cas makes, not only a beloved return to angelhood, but a beloved return to Dean (and Sam). For the first time he’s with Dean and Dean doesn’t have to lie or push him away. Just like 8x07 marked a return from a real and metaphorical Purgatory, 9x10 marked another reunion that equally symbolizes Dean facing his real and perceived failings. Cas, in his crisp trench coat, symbolizes a return to balance and rightness in Dean’s world—it heralds Dean beginning to see the truth of a particular situation. But there’s a small change. As Crowley remarks, Cas is lacking his usual backwards tie. Is this a nod to the moral ambiguity of cannibalizing Theo’s grace or that Cas has loosened up a bit from his time as a human? Perhaps a bit of both. I just think it’s interesting that Cas only dons the trench coat this season when he and Dean can finally meet as equals with no subterfuge marring their relationship—no Naomi mind control or lying for Gadreel.
It’s like the shock of seeing Cas after being so vulnerable and alone means that Dean can’t help but check him out a little. His happiness is still muted by pain and loss, but one thing Dean can always count on is Cas being there for him, even when Cas comes back to him a little wrong and, I’m sorry, but that’s beautiful.
